73163355 10217723639375330 5589819585495826432 oCome for a day-long conference exploring "the villain" in the novels of Jane Austen and the Regency era in general. Speakers will include Prof. Patricia Matthew on "Of Teapots and Ladies' Whips: Sugar, Abolition, and the History of the Novel" and Prof. Nancy Yee on "A Cure for the Villain in Mansfield Park, Austen's Problem Comedy."  Lunch is included, as well as a performance reading of "The Early Life of Lady Catherine de Bourgh," adapted from a story by JASNA member Marie Sprayberry and directed by Bob Moss.
