The Jane Austen 250th Birthday Bake-Off

Jane Austen turns 250 this month, and we’re celebrating the milestone with a virtual Birthday Bake-Off!  Whether you’re a novice baker or a pro, Janeites everywhere are welcome to enter. The only requirements are that the creations and photos are your own and celebrate Austen's birthday.

Here's how it works:

• Between now and December 16, bake a cake or sweet treat you'd serve at a birthday party or tea in Jane's honor. Show off your decorating skills, try a period or heirloom recipe, make something inspired by an Austen novel or character, or show off a family favorite—it's up to you.
• Take a photo of your creation and either post it on Instagram or Facebook with the hashtag #JASNABirthdayBakeoff and tag JASNA (@jasnaorg) so we can find it, OR email it to e-communications@jasna.org.  And please add a brief note about what you've baked!
• We'll share the entries on JASNA's social media platforms and in a special 250 Bake-Off photo gallery on our website. This isn’t a contest with judging and prizes—just a fun way to get creative and celebrate Austen's big day with fellow Janeites.
