AGM Hotel Reservation Tips

The hotel reservation block opens on Monday, June 23, at noon Eastern Time. Here are some tips for making your room reservation.

Basic Information

  • The reservations link will be posted on our AGM hotel page at 12 noon Eastern Time on June 23. You may need to refresh your browser or clear your cache if you don’t see it. The link will also be posted at that time here in the AGM Update Center.
  • A telephone number for reservations will also be posted, but using the online reservations link is much faster. If you call, ask for the JASNA Annual Meeting group room block.
  • Third-party sites will not have access to the JASNA discounted room block. Again, using the reservation link that will be posted on June 23 on our AGM hotel page is the best way to get your room.
  • We have a very large room block, but expect some initial fluctuation. Every year, AGM registrants release some hotel rooms after a few days/weeks as they refine their travel plans and sort out roommate arrangements.

Using the Marriott's Online Reservations System

  • Enter your desired dates of stay and number of people in the room, then search. Important:  If you search for more nights than are available at the time, your entire search may return a "no available rooms" response. Search for fewer nights and try to add on to your reservation later.
  • Two room types are offered: Run of House and 2 Queens.
    • If you do not have a roommate, please choose Run of House and put "King" in the request box that will be visible on the next screen.
    • If you have a roommate and need two beds, choose the 2 Queens option.
    • If 2 Queens appears as sold out and you need two beds, choose Run of House and put "2 Queens" in the request box.
  • If you have special needs (such as an ADA accessible room) or preferences, put them in the request box. Accessible rooms do not show up as a selectable option, but our hotel coordinator will work with Marriott to confirm that people who need ADA rooms have them reserved.

Other Tips

  • JASNA does not work with any third-party booking agents, and you should regard any communication from anyone offering to book your room for you as attempted fraud.
  • The same discounted room rate, $219 plus tax, is good for one to four people per room.
  • We will release a tool for potential roommates to find one another in late July. In the meantime, you may ask at your JASNA regional events or try to connect via social media. Watch the JASNA AGM Facebook page for news.
  • It is likely that during the initial rush, some nights or room types may sell out—this happens frequently, and usually most attendees are eventually able to secure the reservations they want.  Please make a partial reservation if you're able to and watch for opportunities to add more nights later. If your plans change, please release your room promptly, so that those needing rooms can get them.
  • Please see our hotel page and your hotel reservation confirmation for all terms, deposits information, and refund/cancellation deadlines.
  • We do not encourage the use of other reservation websites because they do not have access to our group discount and we cannot assist you with problems that may arise with any reservations not made through the JASNA link. But if you do use a different reservation website, be certain you reserve for the right hotel: the Baltimore Marriott Waterfront at 700 Aliceanna Avenue.

Won't it be fun when we're all together under the same roof, celebrating Jane Austen at 250 (not excluding our Livestream/Virtual friends, who will be there in spirit through the magic of online connection)? See you there!
