Her books include Jane Austen and Narrative Authority; Imperial Characters: Home and Periphery in Eighteenth-Century Literature; Women Critics, 1660–1820 (co-editor); Frances Burney’s A Busy Day (editor); and Walter Scott on Monarchy: Royal Bodies and the Body Politic (forthcoming). She has published articles on eighteenth-and nineteenth-century writers.
